Taco Roc

On first visit, Taco Roc was exactly as I expected. You go to the counter, place your order, you are given a table marker, and when your order is ready it's brought to the table.It's distinctly a no frills affair, but that is reflected in the prices. The most expensive menu item was $11.00. I ordered the taco plate. For $6.25 + tax I got 2 tacos, rice and beans. You choose ground beef or chicken and flour or corn tortillas. I chose chicken on flour.Everything was delicious and the refried beans were the best I've ever had. The weren't at all pasty or dry and topped with an actual mild Mexican cheese instead of white American cheese sauce. The tacos had plenty of mildly seasoned chicken and fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and cilantro. The rice was as good as any I've had though I admit I'm not a big fan generally.The restaurant was clean and open and had plenty of natural light.If you want incredibly authentic Mexican food at a very good price you can't do better in Chattanooga.

Ambience is not that good compared to log of other places but food is just amazing.Hence rating it as 5 star Only for it's really authentic Mexican food

It wasn't as good as all the hype. It wasn't bad. I've had the same and even better at and off taco trucks in Cali. I would reco if in area. For Tennessee again I've said this before it is very hard unless in Nashville to find really "write home to mom about really great Mexican food"! So not over the top and certainly not the worst. (Worst area is Cleveland Tennessee for lack thereof Mexican and horrific Mexican food imho) Everything is and has spice to the borderline of spicy to it, even the plain rice. So that was why there was no fourth 🌟 as well. Although well traveled and knowing the importance of marrying spices in food this I felt was just an overkill to what could and has the potential to be much better tasting.

Great local Mexican place that is more authentic but still has all the stereotypical Mexican restaurant dishes. Salsa bar in the corner is great, but they aren't playing when they say hot.

Ignore the other ratings people..This place is AUTHENTICALLY DELICIOUS.I am a simple man. I ordered #20, which is tacos. I got steak, al pastor (pork bits marinated), and pork (pulled pork). The food is fresh and delicious.The tacos aren’t topped with anything but they have a salsa/ topping bar where you can put whatever you desire on them!Definitely the best tacos in Chatt!

Food was GREAT! Homemade, authentic, Mexican food! Atmosphere is sketchy though. We enjoyed it, just not fancy.

Very good, quite authentic. Lots of food at amazing prices. Guacamole, one of the best my wife and I've had, nice avocado chunks and home made chips.

This is probably the best authentic Mexican food in this area! Give it a try. Just make sure you turn around and back into your parking spot because it can be a challenge getting out.

Although it can be a little inconsistent at times, Taco Roc is by far my favorite Mexican Restaurant in town. But don't bother with anything except the Tacos and Tostadas.

Had pollo cheese and beans #29 Chips were very hard and crunchy. Not bad but I've had better. Going to give it another chance with something else. Fingers crossed

Food is good. Sanitation could be better. While there an employee came in, took their toddler behind the counter, and stood them up on the table that had all the utensils.

Chicken Fajitas was definitely the best I've had since COVID-19 friendly staff and nice atmosphere!

This is my favorite place to eat in Chattanooga. They make the best tacos I've ever had. The steak and bacon tacos are my favorite. I love the salsa cart, because it allows you to dress your tacos exactly how you like them. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the seating area and bathrooms are clean. It's a little hole-in-the-wall in the best way.

This place deserves the good reviews. I still prefer the options out west where I'm from but for mexican food east of the Mississippi this is about as good as it gets. Also they really deserve credit for the flour tortillas. I havent has such a good tortilla out here which tells me they're making their own and my guess is they're using lard in the recipe as it's supposed to be.

Little hole in the wall but the food is the best Mexican food we have had since being back in Chattanooga. My sister told me about this place years ago and we finally got around to trying it out. We will definitely be back for more. If you are craving great Mexican food, I highly suggest you try Taco Roc out. You will not be disappointed.

Great homemade food. They even make their own chips.

Super “family ran”. No waiter / waitress. You order at the front, seat yourself, they bring you your food. You DO have to pay if you want chips and salsa but it’s SO WORTH IT. They have a salsa bar (guac included). Their food is very well priced.

Its the real thing. No doubt the most authentic food in Chattanooga. The food is actually too spicy for me...even the mild salsa! Lol. Very good food with a big menu containing items you dont see elsewhere. TIP: They ofter run coupons in Money Saver Mag.

For a little hole in the wall, that you most likely wouldn't know it existed without word of mouth, has to have the best Mexican food in Chattanooga. When I first walked into the restaurant, I wasn't expecting much. Bit when the food was delivered to my table, I was pleasantly surprised. The employees are very friendly and the food is excellent!
